Sarah Cracknell

Sarah Cracknell ( born April 12, 1967 in Chelmsford, Essex ) is since 1990 the lead singer of the indie-pop group Saint Etienne.

Solo career

Her first solo album she released in 1997. Lipslide was initially sold exclusively in the UK. With the sales of the album Sarah Cracknell was unhappy and blamed it on the lack of promotion by their label Gut Records. Lipslide is no longer available new today. In the U.S., the debut album was released three years later, the two versions differ in the cover artwork and the tracklist clear: Five songs from the UK version have been replaced by new titles, later, the original tracks were as EP Kelly 's Locker in the U.S. trade.

Other Projects

Besides band and solo career Sarah Cracknell is active in numerous other projects, including Paul van Dyk, Marc Almond (I Close My Eyes and Count To Ten, originally by Dusty Springfield ) and Mark Brown ( The Journey Continues, June 2008).
