Say Goodbye is a song by the American musician Chris Brown. It was released on 8 August 2006 as the fourth single from Brown's debut album, whereupon it reached # 100 on the Billboard Hot ten. In Germany it has not got into the charts. The title can also be found on the soundtrack of the movie Step Up.

Background and Music Video

The song was written by Bryan -Michael Cox, Kendrick Dean and Adonis Shropshire, where Cox also served as producer. Dean came under the pseudonym " WyldCard " as a co- producer in appearance. The title was released on 8 August 2006 as the fourth of five singles.

In the music video Jessy Terrero directed, the clip was shown for the first time on 26 July 2006. The video begins with a few scenes in an environment reminiscent of a dance school. There, Brown's song "Is not No Way ( You Will not Love Me) " is played. The clip is mostly of Brown's attempts to separate himself from his girlfriend. However, this is very difficult for him. In the course of the story he finds also another girl, with whom he spends increasingly more time. In the end, Brown was discovered by his girlfriend at the secret meeting with the other person. In various dance scenes you see the three parties always dance together until Brown finally leaves with the new girl the room.

Commercial success

The single was the second time for " Run It! ", Which topped the Hot R & B / Hip- Hop Songs achieved. This position defended the song later for six weeks. In the Billboard Hot 100 the title debuted at rank 79 and obtained in November after twelve weeks with tenth its maximum position. This could defend it in the second week, before it then fell back a few positions. In Germany and the United Kingdom " Say Goodbye " did not rise in the charts.
