Serhiy Lebid
Serhiy Lebid (Ukrainian Сергій Лебідь, English transcription Serhiy Lebid, also Russian Сергей Лебедь, Sergei / Sergey Lebed, . Born July 15, 1975 in Dnipropetrovsk ) is a Ukrainian long-distance runner.
His greatest successes he achieved at the European Championships in cross-country running, where he won nine times so far gold, one silver and two bronze. At the World Cross Country Championships in 2000 he was eight and 2001 runner-up.
In the 5000 -meter run, he was at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney in seventh, and the following year he took over the same distance gold at the Universiade. At the European Athletics Championships in Munich in 2002 followed bronze at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he failed, however, as well as the semi-finals at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005.
