Shawn Drover

Shawn Drover ( born May 5, 1966) is a Canadian drummer. Especially known for his work with Megadeth, he was previously active for many years in Eidolon.

Career

Drover began to play the drums at the age of 13 years. In 1993 he founded with his brother Glen Drover, who for some time later played also with Megadeth, Eidolon and published several studio albums with the band, which is now on hold.

Six days before the start of Blackmail The Universe Megadeth tour for the album The System Has Failed replaced Drover in October 2004, Nick Menza. His brother, who had already been entered in Megadeth, had recommended him. Since he also plays guitar, Shawn Drover exchanged during some concerts briefly the instruments with his brother Glen.

2008 Glen Drover left Megadeth. Shawn Drover was the Dave Mustaine a video of his successor Chris Broderick showed whereupon the latter was brought to the band.

Style

Shawn Drover is known that he used the method of the Open Handed drumming. This is the hi-hat played with the left instead of the right hand, the snare drum instead with the right instead of the left.
