The Shaiba - Ice Arena (Russian Ледовая Арена " Шайба ") is a multi-purpose arena in Adler ( Sochi), Russia. The arena was next to the Bolshoi Ice Palace hosted the hockey competitions at the Olympic Winter Games 2014.

Description

Shaiba referred to in the Russian language, the gaming device in ice hockey, the puck. The arena was completed in 2013. As a test competitions before the Olympic Winter Games Ice Hockey World Championship U18 juniors in April 2013 and a four-nation tournament in Sledge Hockey were conducted in August and September 2013.

In addition to group matches at the Olympic hockey tournament and the sledge hockey competitions of the 2014 Winter Paralympics will be held in the Shaiba arena.

Originally, the construction of the arena would cost 27.2 million U.S. dollars, currently it is assumed that construction costs in the amount of 35.5 million U.S. dollars. After the end of the Paralympic Games the arena will be dismantled and reassembled in another Russian city. Candidates are Krasnodar and Nizhny Novgorod.
