She Loves Me Not (1934 film)

She Love Me Not is an American movie from 1934 with Bing Crosby and Miriam Hopkins in the lead roles. Directed by Elliott Nugent.

Action

The dancer Curly Flagg is during a performance in Boston witnesses a murder and flees from fear of being eliminated from the killer, head over to the Princeton University. There they hid the young musician Paul Lawton in the room his best friend. This Curly young men do not notice at all, she cuts her hair and wearing a suit. At the same Curly is virtually inundated overnight star and her agent with offers. While on the one hand, Paul does everything so Curlys not disguise flies up and Curly tried everything the lucrative deals actually accept, tracks down the killer Curly. Several complications later, the confusion and trials to solve and Paul marries Curly.

Background

She Love Me Not is based on the eponymous musical comedy by Howard Lindsay, who brought it in the season 1933/34, a total of 367 performances. Especially the song Love In Bloom it became very popular and the plate recording of Bing Crosby has sold the country very well. Miriam Hopkins finishing with the appearance her studio contract with Paramount, while Kitty Carlisle was hailed by critics as a real find. The fabric was still filmed twice. Once in 1942 under the title True to the Army with Judy Canova and Ann Miller, and in 1955 as How to Be Very, Very Popular, directed by Nunnally Johnson with Betty Grable and Sheree North.
