Shepherd's Bush Market tube station

Shepherd's Bush Market is an aboveground station London Underground in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 2 on the Uxbridge Road in Shepherd 's Bush district and is served by trains of the Hammersmith & City Line and the Circle Line. In 2011, 3.0 million passengers used the station. North of the station, the BBC Television Centre is located. In the surrounding area is Loftus Road, the stadium of Queens Park Rangers.

The station was opened under the name Shepherd's Bush on June 13, 1864 by the Hammersmith & City Railway. This company was initially part of the Great Western Railway in 1867, and came into the possession of the Metropolitan Railway ( predecessor company of the Metropolitan Line). On 31 March 1914, the station was closed, shifted by about two hundred meters to the north and reopened the following day at today's location. In 1990, the operational independence of the Hammersmith branch of the Metropolitan Line under the name Hammersmith & City Line. On 5 October 2008, the station in Shepherd's Bush Market was renamed to avoid confusion with the nearby Shepherd's Bush station on the Central Line. Since December 13, 2009 here also keep trains on the Circle Line.
