Skurup Municipality
Skurup is a municipality (in Swedish kommun ) in the southern Swedish province of Skåne County and the historical province Scania. The main town of the municipality is Skurup.
Geography
The municipality extends from Horst Romeleåsen to the Swedish south coast. From the lake, the river Svaneholmssjön Skivarpsån, from the Näsbyholmssjön the Dybäcksån flows.
Skurup borders the municipalities of Ystad, Sjöbo, Lund and Trelleborg.
History
The municipality was formed in 1971 when the local government reform of Rydsgårds kommun, Vemmenhögs kommun and then smaller Skurups kommun.
