Smetanova Lhota

Smetanova Lhota ( German Smetana Lhota ) is a municipality with 267 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is located 16 km east of the city Blatná in South Bohemia.

The community is located between the rivers Skalice and Lomnice. Smetanova Lhota was first mentioned in documents in 1384, founded the place is probably in the middle of the 12th century. The municipality Smetanova Lhota, the districts Vrábsko ( Dietrich Stein) and Karlov include ( Karlhof ).

Architecturally noteworthy is the baroque hunting lodge in Karlov from the 18th century, a one-story building with an oval central block, flanked by two compact wings. Built it was a Bohemian nobleman Karl Gottlieb von Bissingen.
