Sofia Milos
Sofia Milos ( born September 27, 1969 in Zurich ) is a Greek- Italian actress.
Life
The daughter of a Greek mother and an Italian father, who still has a brother who spent her early years in Switzerland. Through their French nanny, she learned early the French language. Milos went to school in Switzerland. Later she moved to Rome, where she participated in a local beauty contest at the age of 14 years. She won the first prize there, then the competition of the province and finally the regional and national competition.
Already at 15, she started modeling, she worked in the major fashion cities Milan, Paris, New York, Tokyo and Munich. A part of their earnings, she used to study business administration in Switzerland. Finally, she sold with 19 years self-designed clothes. Through their work, both in Switzerland and in Germany and Spain, she learned the languages of the respective countries. She is part of Scientology and is committed to their sub- organization Citizens Commission on Human Rights.
Acting Career
In 1990 she moved for a short time to New York, before moving to Los Angeles. She took acting lessons at the Beverly Hills Playhouse and worked in local theater productions, until it in the indie film Out of Control in 1992 got her debut role. In 1993, she won the role of Fabiana Borelli, an Italian model who lives in Paris, for the NBC sitcom Cafe Americain. When the series had been canceled in 1994, she appeared as a guest actress in some TV shows on, such as Platypus Man, Friends, Vanishing Son, and Weird Science.
Milos returned after a few minor roles in 1998 with the parody of Jane Austen's Mafia! on the back screen. In 1999, she was then seen in Screw Loose and 2000 in The Ladies Man. In The Sopranos, she had 2000, another guest role on an HBO series. In the same year she had as Richard Lewis' girlfriend in several episodes of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm! all dialogs improvise. 2001 Milos received another television role as Paulie the Hitwoman in the series Thieves of ABC. In the same year she starred alongside William Baldwin starred in the HBO -produced for television film Double Bang.
In 2001, she starred in The Order, an Israeli police officer at the side of Jean -Claude Van Damme and Charlton Heston. In 2002, she starred as a greedy Italian-American woman in the Italian miniseries Lo Zio d' America the main role. The series was one of the most successful of the year in Italy. In January 2003, Milos had a guest role on the NBC medical drama ER - Emergency Room. In February, she made her debut as Detective Yelina Salas on the CBS hit series CSI: Miami with David Caruso and Emily Procter. Your next major appearance was in 2003 in the romantic comedy Passionada, in which she starred alongside Jason Isaacs and Celia Amonte a Portuguese fado singer.
In April 2010 it was announced that Sofia Milos is seen in an episode of the series Swiss scene. The film however, was initially withdrawn from the Swiss television and only 14 August 2011 (originally planned for April 17, 2011 was ) broadcast.
