History

In a resulting 881-899 Directory of tithing of Hersfeld Monastery ( Hersfeld tithe directory) is first mentioned as requiring a tenth place in the frieze Suderhusa field in records Sotterhausen.

Exactly 16 years from 1 April 1974 to 31 March 1990 belonged to the municipality Sotterhausen Beyernaumburg.

On 1 January 2010, by then independent municipality Sotterhausen together with the communities Beyernaumburg, Emseloh, Holdenstedt, Katharinenrieth, Liedersdorf, Mittelhausen Niederröblingen (helmets ), Nienstedt, Pölsfeld and Wolferstedt was incorporated into the city Altstedt.
