Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region

Jugovzhodna Slovenija ( " Southeast Slovenia " ), precise Jugovzhodna Slovenija statistična regija is a statistical region in Slovenia on NUTS3 level.

The region, which is intended for statistical purposes, was introduced in May 2005. It comprises a total of 20 municipalities. The largest city is Novo Mesto with 23,300 inhabitants. The total area is 2675 km ². Its population is 144,700 (both 2012).

It is similar to the historical regions of Lower Carniola ( Carniola ) and Bela Krajina ( Bela Krajina )
