Srnín

Srnín ( German Sirnin ) is a municipality with 240 inhabitants ( 2006) in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers north-east of Český Krumlov and belongs to Okres Český Krumlov. The land area is 672 ha

Geography

The place is located in 540 m asl left of the Vltava valley at the eastern foot of the Blanský. By Srnín the railway from České Budějovice leads to Cesky Krumlov. To the east rises the Granátnik (810 m), lie behind the Bily kámen (930 m) and the Kleť ( 1083 m).

Neighboring towns are Nová Koruna and Zlata Koruna to the northeast, and Rájov Býlavka in the east, in the southeast Svachova Lhotka, Přísečná in the south, Český Krumlov and Vyšný in the southwest, and Mokřady and Kokotín in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Srnyn dates from 1400.

Since 2004, the community is part of the micro Podkletí. In the village of Riding Club Stáj Papoušek is established.
