St Anne's College, Oxford

The St Anne 's College is one of the colleges of the University of Oxford. It was originally founded as the Association for the Education of Women, the first institution in Oxford, which started and women to higher education. Later the organization as a Society of Home Students was known. In 1942 it was finally renamed St Anne 's Society and received in 1952 the status of a college. By 1979, only women were included. Today, St Anne 's is one of about 450 undergraduates and about 150 graduate students to the larger colleges. The ratio between male and female students is balanced today.

Location

The college is located in North Oxford, on a donated from St John 's College land between Woodstock Road and Banbury Road. Previously, the college was spread over several buildings, Oxford. These were sold to finance the Ruth Deech Building was completed in 2005.
