Stefon Jackson

Stefon Jackson ( born May 7, 1985 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American professional basketball player. After studying in his native Jackson played professionally in Europe. After brief exposure to Turkey and Greece, he played two years in the Belgian Ethias League. Since the season 2012/13 he plays in the German Basketball Bundesliga for the polar bears Bremerhaven.

Career

Jackson grew up in Philadelphia and moved on to studies in 2005 at the University of Texas at El Paso. Their high school team Miners played since 2005 in the Conference USA NCAA and is a historically very important team, the NCAA, because at the height of the African American civil rights movement in 1966, the Miners were the first team with five African-American players in the " Starting Five ", a nationwide NCAA finals won and were later incorporated into the Naismith Memorial as a team Basketball Hall of Fame. In the following season Jackson then played in the Belgian Pepinster for the RBC. Jackson was indeed an average of just over 16 points scorer of the Ethias League 2010/11, but could not prevent a third from bottom of the nine- team league Pepinster missed the championship play-offs of the best six teams. In the following season he played for league rivals and runners-up Okapi Aalstar from Aalst. Together in a team with the top scorer in 2011/12 and later NBA pro Chris Copeland difference this time from Okapi in the first round of the play -offs.

For the Basketball Bundesliga 2012/13 Jackson got a contract with the German first division polar bears from Bremerhaven. There he plays with Stanley Burrell together, who had previously played as Jackson in Pepinster and Aalst, albeit with different seasons.
