The Sukhothai Airport ( Thai: ท่าอากาศยาน สุโขทัย; IATA Code: THS; ICAO code: VTPO ) is a regional airport in the district ( Amphoe ) Sawankhalok the province of Sukhothai in the North region of Thailand.
History
The Sukhothai Airport was officially opened on 12 April 1996 with a first flight clearance. He has a unique open-air terminal, whose style is reminiscent of the traditional architecture in northern Thailand. Bangkok Airways to grow in the grounds around the airport organic rice, which is part of the in-flight menu.
Location
The Sukhothai Airport is about 27 kilometers north of the center of the provincial capital of Sukhothai and is about 9 km away from Sawankhalok.
