Sung Men District

Amphoe Sung Men ( Thai อำเภอ สูงเม่น ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) Phrae province in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts ( from the southwest clockwise): Amphoe Den Chai, the, Long, Mueang Phrae Phrae province, as well as Tha Pla and Mueang Uttaradit Province Uttaradit.

The main water artery of the circle Sung Men is the Yom.

History

Sung Men has become archaeologically interesting by the discovery of machined pebbles pieces in Ban Don Mun, which have an age of about 700,000 years. Bones of Homo erectus from this period, however, were not yet discovered.

In 1903, was the name of the district of Mae Phuak ( แม่ พวก ), his administration was in Ban Sung Men In 1917 the district of Mae Phuak in Sung Men was renamed.

Management

The circle is divided into twelve subdistricts (tambon ), which are divided further into 109 villages ( Muban ).

Sung Men ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สูงเม่น ) is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district. It consists of parts of the tambon same name.

In addition, there are twelve " Tambon Administrative Organizations" ( TAO - administrative units ).
