Mueang Uttaradit District

Amphoe Mueang Uttaradit ( in Thai อำเภอ เมือง อุตรดิตถ์ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the Uttaradit province. The Uttaradit province lies about 460 kilometers north of the capital Bangkok.

Geography

Uttaradit is about 450 kilometers north of the capital Bangkok. The vast plain of Maenam Nan ( Nan River ) contributes to a certain monotony of the environment.

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Den Chai province Phraeund the Amphoe Tha Pla, Thong Saen Khan, Tron and Laplae the province of Uttaradit.

Education

In Amphoe Mueang Uttaradit is a side campus of Maejo University and Rajabhat University, Uttaradit.

Management

The district Mueang Uttaradit is divided into 18 subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 154 villages ( Muban ).

The capital of the district of Uttaradit ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง อุตรดิตถ์ ) has town status ( thesaban Mueang ).

There are also eight small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

• Wang Kaphi ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วัง กะ พี้ ) consists of the whole Tambon Wang Kaphi,
• Ban Ko ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน เกาะ ) consists of the whole Tambon Ban Ko,
• Ban Na Kham Dan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน ด่าน นา ขาม ) consists of parts of tambon Ban Na Kham Dan.
• Pha Chuk ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ผา จุก ) consists of the whole Tambon Pha Chuk,
• Khung Taphao ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล คุ้ง ตะเภา ) consists of the whole tambon Khung Taphao,
• Nam Rit ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ผา จุก ) consists of the whole tambon Nam Rit,
• Has Kruat ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หาด กรวด ) consists of the whole tambon Hat Kruat,
• Tha Sao ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ท่า เสา ) consists of the whole tambon Tha Sao.

In addition, there are nine " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
