Superman: The Animated Series

Superman ( Original title: Superman: The Animated Series) is an American animated television series from the late 1990s, based on the eponymous comic book character Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. She takes no reference to earlier adaptations of the character and starts the series thus for television again. At the same time it is the most recent animated series adaptation, which focuses on Superman's adventures. In some later cartoons and later produced crossover animated series Justice League Superman is however also includes a central figure.

Action

The overall story of Superman is to the current version of the comic book. Thus, Superman is an alien who was sent as an infant by his parents with a space vehicle of his home planet Krypton to Earth to save him from the Imminent destruction of his home Planetens. Here on Earth, he has a variety of super powers, which he uses for the benefit of mankind. To live among the ordinary people he created an alter ego Clark Kent, as he works at the Daily Planet. There he worked with the reporter Lois Lane and falls in love with her. He must ensure that his secret identity is not known.

However, the individual storylines go far beyond the well-known framework for action. So it gets Superman in the course of the series also next to his well-known nemesis Lex Luthor with powerful alien enemies, such as Darkseid and Lobo, which also can be physically dangerous to him without kryptonite and do Mr. Mxyzptlk.
