Swept Away (2002 film)

Stormy Love - Swept Away (Original Title: Swept Away ) is a British- Italian comedy film from the year 2002 was directed by Guy Ritchie, who also wrote the screenplay.. The main roles were played by Madonna, Adriano Giannini, and Bruce Greenwood.

The film is a remake of the Italian comedy adventure Carried away by an unusual destiny in the azure sea in August of 1974.

Action

Amber Leighton lives in New York City, she is married to the rich Anthony Leighton. She makes her husband and friends on a yacht in the Mediterranean holiday. On the yacht leads them especially very snooty on and lets her arrogance especially feel the sailors and fishermen Giuseppe Esposito.

Amber, who has lost the connection to their friends who visit an island, insists that Giuseppe she brings despite his concerns to the island. Move the engine of their boat goes out and they are stranded on an uninhabited island. There Giuseppe turns the tables, and Amber have to wash for him wash, cook food, kissing his feet and call him Master. Yet you come closer; Amber gradually learns to fish and other things after she was completely lost in the beginning. Amber is the first time in their lives completely satisfied with Giuseppe and do not want to go back from the island. Giuseppe is not enough. He wants a proof that she chooses for him and not for her rich life in New York.

After a month, Amber and Giuseppe rescued from the island. Amber rises together with her husband into a hotel. Giuseppe Amber calls later and confesses his love. She says she loves him too, and asks what she should do. Giuseppe says he'll call you. They concealed their feelings in front of her husband.

Giuseppe Anthony gets a reward in cash. For the money, he buys a ring, which he leaves in an envelope for Amber in the hotel where dwell Leighton. Anthony captures the charge from though. When he and Amber want to departing on a helicopter, Anthony makes his unsuspecting woman - disappointed to have not heard from Giuseppe - get the envelope with the ring together with tip of a staff. This brings the envelope with the address written thereon Giuseppe, who is waiting near this point at the pier. Giuseppe opens the envelope. In the belief that Amber had rejected his application, he runs to the departure point. The helicopter starts, Amber is crying and does not see the bitter Irish border Giuseppe. Giuseppe throws the ring into the water.

Reviews

James Berardinelli called the film on ReelViews as unfortunate ( unfortunate ). The same word he repeated to describe Madonna's attempt at representation ( attempt to play). Berardinelli compared the film strongly negative with the film Carried away by an unusual destiny in the azure sea in August of 1974 and wrote 90 % of the humor was unintentional.

Owen Gleiberman wrote in Entertainment Weekly, the film should be anything other than entertainment. He praised the chemistry between Madonna and Adriano Giannini.

Awards

The film won five times in 2003, the Golden Raspberry Awards, including for Madonna, Guy Ritchie as a director and as Worst Picture. Guy Ritchie as a screenwriter and Adriano Giannini were nominated for the Golden Raspberry. In 2005 the film was nominated as Worst Drama of the last 25 years for another Razzie.
