Sylvain Armand

Sylvain Armand ( born August 1, 1980 in Saint- Étienne ) is a French football player. The defender stands since 2013 in Ligue 1 Stade Rennes under contract.

Career

Association

Armand played for the youth department of AS Saint- Étienne, before moving in 1999 to Clermont Foot, where his professional career to begin. But after one season, he joined the first division club FC Nantes. On 9 September 2000, he was the 2-2 against AJ Auxerre his debut in France's top flight. In 2001 he was with the port city dwellers champion of France and Supercup winner. The club he remained faithful for four seasons before joining in the summer of 2004 for € 5 million for the capital club Paris Paris SG. Two years he had to wait before he could even win a title there. In 2006, he won with the PSG to the French Cup, again two years later the League Cup. In Paris, Armand belongs to the permanent staff. Since joining in 2004 for PSG, he completed at least 35 league games per season. He switches on the 31 July 2013 free transfer to Stade Rennes. He has the French first division a contract. With now 424 missions he stands up to the June 31, 2015 Mickaël Landreau behind the No. 2 still active record player in Ligue 1

National

Armand was national team in the U -21 France, with whom he participated at the Junior World Championships 2002 in Switzerland.
