Taça do Atlântico

The Taça do Atlântico ( Port. ), or Spanish Copa del Atlántico is probably best translated as Atlantic Cup. This was 1956-1976 an unofficial tournament of the leading football teams in South America, which was hosted by the participating organizations. Participants were the national football teams of Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. The games were held in the cities of Asunción, Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Rio de Janeiro. Brazil won all three lotteries that took place in the years 1956, 1960 and 1976.

1956, under the same name in a club tournament with participants from the above Countries except Paraguay, instead.

Not to be confused is the tournament with the Copa del Atlántico. This tournament took place only once in 1947.
