Talais

Talais is a commune with 675 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Gironde department in the region of Aquitaine. It belongs to the community association Communauté de communes de la Pointe du Medoc.

Geography

Talais is north of the Médoc peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde estuary of the rivers Garonne and Dordogne. The distance to the southeast, Bordeaux is almost 90 kilometers. The Atlantic beaches are about five miles away, to the bank of the Gironde, there are approximately three kilometers.

Neighboring municipalities are Soulac -sur -Mer in the Northwest, Saint -Vivien -de -Médoc in the southeast and Grayan -et -l'Hôpital in the southwest. In the north east borders the municipality in the Gironde.
