Tamana is the smallest island in the Pacific archipelago of the Gilbert Islands. It belongs to the island nation of Kiribati.

The 5 km long, 1 km wide Tamana is south-southeast of Onotoa Atoll and west of the Arorae Atoll in the south of the Gilbert Islands. The population as of 2005 was 875 inhabitants and is declining. For main town Bakaka include maneaba ( meeting house ), a church, a school and a hospital. In Parliament, Kiribati, the maneaba ni Maungatabu, Tamana is represented with one voice.

The island is accessible via the opposite northern airfield Tamana from the air.
