Tampereen Pyrintö
Tampere Pyrintö (abbreviated TP ) is a 1896 based sports club based in Tampere, Finland. There are club teams for athletics, basketball, orienteering, weight lifting, cross country skiing, ski jumping and cheerleading.
Departments
Basketball
The basketball department of Tampere Pyrintö was founded in 1941. She has won two Finnish championships and even the cup competition of the men. The team of women has won eight Finnish championships and even the cup.
Athletics
In athletics Pyrintö is one of the best clubs in Finland. Known members Pyrintös are the long jumper Tommi Evilä and javelin thrower Tero Järvenpää.
Orienteering
Tampere Pyrintö also one of the most successful orienteering clubs in Finland. Known runners of the team are Anni- Maija Fincke, Venla Niemi, Liisa Anttila Outi Borgenström and Jarkko Huovila. The men 's and women's seasons the club have already celebrated several successes in Jukola and Venla. The women's relay won in 1990, 1991 and 2011 at the Swedish Tiomila.
