Tareste is a village (Estonian küla ) in the rural community Pühalepa ( Pühalepa vald ). It is the second largest Estonian island of Hiiumaa ( German Dagö ).
Description and History
Tareste ( German Tarrist ) has 23 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). The village was first mentioned in records in 1565 under the name Tharis.
The place is located three kilometers north- west of the capital Kärdla, Laht directly on the Baltic Book Tareste.
Through the village of Bach Tareste oja flows.
