Team Novo Nordisk
The Team Novo Nordisk is a U.S. cycling team based in Atlanta.
The team was founded in 2008 and took part as Continental Team in particular to cycling race in the UCI America Tour and UCI Asia Tour. Manager is Vasily Davydenko, who is supported by the team managers Massimo Podenzana, Gleb Grojsman, John Oats and Pavel Cherkasov. The team is equipped with bikes of the brand Colnago. The former Team Name Type 1 stands for the type 1 diabetes disease. The team is supported by pharmaceutical sponsors that produce insulin and other products. Since the 2011 season, the team goes as Professional Continental team at the start.
For the 2013 season the dänisiche pharmaceutical manufacturer Novo Nordisk replaced the French company Sanofi title sponsor. The team will consist of 17 type 1 diabetic patients and has the aim to participate in 2021 at the Tour de France.
