The Industrialist is the ninth studio album by the American heavy metal band Fear Factory. The album was released on June 1, 2012 in Germany and on June 5, 2012 in the United States and internationally.

Formation

The album was like the previous album, Mechanize in the Surplus Studios in Van Nuys, California, a suburb of Los Angeles, recorded, produced and mastered. For the album a drum machine was used:

"For years, did not want us to believe that we do not use a drum machine people. Now we have a used, and believe us, no one again. "

The album was thus exclusively with the participation of Burton C. Bell and Dino Cazares and co-producer Rhys Fulber. Although in early 2012 met with Matt DeVries and Mike Heller, a new bassist and a new drummer to the band, they are not yet listed in the booklet as band members. The album is a concept album that tells a story, the singer Burton C. Bell wrote:

"The album is a futuristic tale of an automaton, striving to survive by fighting for its existence within a desperate world. The lyrics tell the story while the music takes our industrial roots and blends them more perfectly than ever with our metal edge. And all without losing the sound did FEAR FACTORY makes a machine of sonic devastation. "

Reception

Conny shipbuilders awarded in the magazine Rock Hard Eight out of ten possible points. The Industrialist sword diverse than its predecessor. The "pure metal banging " will benefit from Electro, Industrial and noise sounds somewhat scaled back, and it would be also " more space for dark and dramatic melodies ." The album reached the 15th place of the Editorial rating together with the new releases of Six Feet Under and Great White.
