Reception

Alex Henderson described the album in his review for Allmusic as a little "fresh" and free of any real innovations, the band but still powerful sound and love conceded to detail. Henderson missed in his album review 3.5 out of 5 score for Mechanize.

" [ ... ] Mechanize is Fear Factory 's first album since Cazares ' return, and the Cazares / Bell / Stroud / Hoglan lineup does not disappoint. This early 2010 release/2009 recording does not break any new ground for the band - Mechanize is very much a throwback to the Industrialized Fear Factory sound of the '90s - but there is no shortage of passion on scorching tracks like " Christploitation, " " Designing the Enemy, " " Oxidizer, "and" Industrial Discipline " [ ... ]. If Mechanize lacks the freshness did Characterized Fear Factory Soul of a New Machine on, Demanufacture, or back Obsolete In Their '90s heyday, did does not make the performances any less inspired or focused. Cazares [ ... ] is quiet a sledgehammer of a guitarist, and he plays like he is thrilled to be a part of Fear Factory again. Mechanize Is not quite in a class with Demanufacture or Obsolete, Which are Widely Regarded as two of Fear Factory's most essential releases. But it 's still an album did longtime followers will welcome. "

In his laut.de review about Mechanize certifies Michael Edele Fear Factory to have released an album with the usual high level and assigns it somewhere between Demanufacture and Obsolete one. However, the band set with this publication, no accents, so Edele on. The laut.de editorial awarded for Mechanize 3 of 5 possible points.

" [ ... ] As was actually to be expected, Fear Factory socialize with the disc rather of the albums from the mid- career stage. So " Mechanize " fits somewhere between " Demanufacture " and " Obsolete " at least in terms what hardness, knitting patterns of the songs and mechanically, supercooled approach. [ ... ] In principle, the whining at a high level, but thanks Arkaea and Divine Heresy you can already ask if Fear Factory set genuine accents, in this millennium. An album on a high level, but if the Yanks can repeat her success the old times? "

Similarly, the response to the new Fear Factory disc Jochen Gedwien of Plattentests.de cut off - an album in the usual Fear Factory - style, without change, without stylistic development, but of the usual high quality. Gedwien awards in his music criticism 5 of 10 possible points.

" [ ... ] Those looking for surprises or style changes, is to" " are expected to be re not find Mechanize. Time travelers but already. Progress through a step backwards. Where other genre representatives in today's times a lot of raising unnecessary frills and want to necessarily change, the Metal Heroes of the 90 phased return to their roots. [ ... ] The main focus will be handed out in a known manner powerful and aggression. Everything as always so: In " Mechanize " Fear Factory 's inside - where it is now because it is ever ".
