The Heulboje is an American comedy film from the year 1964. Alternative title is The boy wonder.
Action
During the filming of a movie star of the movie is killed. Without this star comedian, the film crew is about to go bankrupt. The clumsy bellboy Stanley seems the producers of the ideal replacement. You set out to build the boy to a new comedy star. Stanley, however, is only funny in everyday life as soon as he but after a pre- script to be funny, the opposite is the case. After a disastrous appearance can sample the producers dropped him again. Only Ellen, who has taken a fancy to the boy, holding on to him. When he is finally invited by the famous Ed Sullivan in the television show, he is still overnight to the new American comedy star. Now the producers ask him to return to his knees to them again.
Background
In this film come next to the Ed Sullivan already mentioned a few American stars as guests on. They play some of himself: George Raft, Hedda Hopper, Ed Wynn, Mel Tormé, Rhonda Fleming, Del Moore, Neil Hamilton, Buddy Lester, Jack Albertson. The Heulboje was also the last film appearance by Peter Lorre. Lorre died less than a month after the completion of the shooting of a stroke.
