The case of Mr. O.F. is a German film satire from the small town world of 1931. In her later Hollywood stars are Hedy Lamarr ( Hedwig Kiesler in 1931 ) to see and Peter Lorre in two of her early film lead roles.
Action
The German town of Ostend lives in slumber to himself and seems unaffected by the events out there in the big wide world. One day stranded thirteen suitcase in place that are labeled with the initials "OF". At the same time were in the only hostel in town, the Grand Hotel, six rooms reserved. These events allow the dignitaries vibrate inside. The expected guest may seem obvious very rich, possibly has an important personality in the sleepy nest? The mayor and several businessmen want in any case the looming opportunity not to pass up and are preparing to welcome the stranger and worthy of all honor. Production Notes
The film was shot from September 15 to October 17, 1931 in the Jofa studios in Berlin- Johannisthal. The premiere took place in the Berlin Terra - Light Play Mozart Hall on December 2, 1931. The film received the title of " artistic ".
The conductor was Kurt Schroeder, the texts were written by Erich Kästner. The buildings designed by Erich Czerwonski, Hans Conradi was production manager. For sound, Hans Grimm was responsible. The future cameraman Eugen Klagemann worked on this film as a stills photographer.
In the Third Reich, the Reich Film Chamber ordered a substantial reduction of the film and then brought him under the title Building and marry again in the cinema. 1976 ran on ZDF a restored version of the original film.
