Thiemo de Bakker
Thiemo de Bakker Carsten Jannick ( born September 19, 1988 in The Hague) is a Dutch tennis player.

Life and career
After de Bakker won the junior Grand Slam tournament in Wimbledon, he was given a wild card for his first ATP tournament in Amersfoort. There he caused a surprise when he Julien Benneteau (then world ranking 53) struck in the first round. In the second round, he was eliminated by fellow countryman Marc Gicquel Benneteaus. After de Bakker played again Future tournaments and was until the end of his first tournament win in this class.
In 2007, de Bakker played at the Lord continue mainly Challenger and Futures tournaments. At Wimbledon, he performed for the first time at a Grand Slam tournament and lost to Wayne Arthurs only in 5 sets.
The next year he was also the first time drafted into the Davis Cup team in the Netherlands and celebrated two victories in singles debut against Predrag Rusevski and Ilija Martinoski (both MKD).
2009 de Bakker played only Challenger and ATP tournaments and could quite achieve notable successes there. Among other things, he scored victories against Rainer Schuettler in Munich or against Gaël Monfils in the Davis Cup. This year he was able to conclude among the top 100 (96 ) tennis players in the world for the first time. He is thus the first Dutch player since Raemon Sluiter in 2004, to have managed this.
2010 reached de Bakker in New Haven and Barcelona respectively the semi-finals. At the Grand Slam tournaments in Paris, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open, he was eliminated in the third round. His best world ranking he reached in July 2010 to 40th place
In 2013, when his clay court tournament in Båstad, Sweden managed the leap into the semifinals. On his way there, he turned to Tomas Berdych of the current number six in the world rankings, before he lost to the eventual champions Carlos Berlocq. With the success he improved in the ranking by 17 places to rank 87th
