Robin Haase

Robin Haase ( born April 6, 1987 in The Hague) is a Dutch tennis player.

Career

Haase was a promising youth player, he reached on 14 March 2005 to third place in the junior rankings. When junior tournament of Wimbledon, he lost in the final against Jérémy Chardy.

In July 2007, Haase was able to reach his first semifinal at an ATP tournament. But with the Dutch Open in Amersfoort he lost 4:6, 4:6 against Werner Esch Auer. In double Amersfoort managed Haase Rogier Wassen with even the finals, but the two were beaten by Juan Pablo Brzezicki and Juan Pablo Guzman. In August of the same year for the first time Haase could defeat a Top 10 player. At the Rogers Cup, which will be held in Canada, he defeated Tomáš Berdych 6-4, 7-5. At the U.S. Open in 2007, he joined Mario Ančić as a lucky loser, but lost in the first round 2:6, 1:6, 3:6 against eventual finalists of the tournament, Novak Djokovic.

In the Chennai Open 2008 in India Haase defeated in the first round to set at position two Marcos Baghdatis. In the same year Haase did not progress beyond the quarter- finals of the ATP International Series tournaments. In 2009, Haase compete due to a knee injury in a tournament. That's why he fell in the ATP world rankings of the Top 100 In the 2010 Australian Open Haase in the first round with 0:6, 3:6, 3:6 chance against the set of 21 Tomáš Berdych.

2011 In Monte Carlo Haase lost in round two after initial set win against Jurgen Melzer. In Nice, he reached the quarterfinals, but he had to retire in the second set. At the French Open, he lost his second-round match against Mardy Fish clear. At Wimbledon, he played in the third round again against Mardy Fish; because Haase gave up in the fourth set, the Americans could win this time. In August Haase celebrated his first tournament victory in Kitzbühel, he could successfully defend in 2012.

He plays since 2006 for the Dutch Davis Cup team.
