Thomas " Icke " Hassler (* May 30, 1966 in Berlin ) is a former German football player. He played mostly in the midfield. His greatest successes were the World Champion title in 1990 and the European Championship in 1996.

Playing career

At club level

Hassler began his career at Meteor 06 Berlin, moved in 1979 to the Reinickendorfer foxes and 1984 1st FC Cologne. Hassler graduated 149 games ( 17 goals ) for the Rhinelander, before he was hired after the 1990 World Cup in Italy for a transfer fee of 15 million marks from Juventus. After only one year in Turin, he spent the equivalent of 14 million marks in the Italian capital for AS Roma.
