Thomas Kukula

Thomas Kukula (* 1965 in Dusseldorf ) is a German DJ and music producer, especially in the 1990s under the pseudonyms such as General Base, Candy Beat, the THK or Red 5 Euro Dance Trance and produced.

Life

Kukula began as a DJ in 1986 in Düsseldorf smaller clubs, where he became acquainted with sampling in the scene. This just two years later earned him a job at the discotheque Tarm Center in Bochum. Like other DJs of the Tarm Center also began Thomas Kukula producing his own music. The first project he founded General Base.

The first single was released in 1991 as a general base and was called My God, it's full of stars. With this single Kukula coined the style of the project. Commercial success was his 1992 released album First and Singles Back Again, Apache ( a cover version of the song the Apache The Shadows in 1960 ), In Trance, Bidi Bidi - Do You Wanna Dance, Marilyn Monroe and Poison. In the charts, the single Poison reached but only after adding the singer Claudja Barry. 1994 Album First appeared again, but now with Poison feat. Claudja Barry, Apache and Base of Love. This was followed by more singles, with Rhythm & Drums and See You again dance hits were.

While General Base in its initial stage was immediately successful, Kukula founded already with Candy Beat a further project. The Singles Sax'y ( dance chart No.1) and Feel Alright based on the same recipe for success as General Base.

Under the project name T.H.K. appeared the Single France. This was followed by the projects DUG, Jason King, Mystify, Space Corp.. 1 and White Moon, but were not able to follow the success of General Base.

Only with the Project Red 5, which was originally planned as a live act, Kukula be placed with the Hit Da Beat Goes into the top 20 in the German charts and was very successful commercially. Shortly after the founding of the project Kukula changed the name to DJ Red 5

The single I Love You ... Stop! also rose in the charts, reaching number 13 With the single Lift Me Up to DJ Red 5 was placed again in the Media Control Charts. 2010 was followed by a remake of Da Beat Goes that went back into the dance charts. Appeared in 2001 as a DJ Red 5 feat. DJs @ Work Song Rhythm & Drums, the Kukula had published almost 10 years earlier as a general base and 1996 DUG.

Kukula also produced numerous remixes, including Moby, Bass Bumpers, Maxx, The Good Men, Sequential One, Sheeva or United DJs.

To date, Kukula works as a music producer and DJ in Oberhausen.
