Geography

Geographical location

The community Tiefenbronn with the districts Tiefenbronn, Mühlhausen and Lehningen located on the edge of the Black Forest. Tiefenbronn located on the Würm, but does not flow directly through Tiefenbronn, but through the district of Mulhouse. Pforzheim is located 15 km from Tiefenbronn.

Neighboring communities

Tiefenbronn lies between the towns of Leonberg, Weil der Stadt, Pforzheim and Bad Love cell.

A close connection to the neighboring municipality of Neuhausen ( Enz ).

Community structure

The municipality Tiefenbronn include the former municipalities Lehningen and Mulhouse. Among the former municipalities Lehningen and Mulhouse each include only the villages of the same name. The municipality Tiefenbronn within the limits of the 1971 include the village Tiefenbronn and the houses waterworks.

History

Tiefenbronn was first mentioned in 1105 in the Codex of the Monastery Hirsau. Later it was owned by the lords of the Stain. Jakob von Stein sold the place in 1407 at the baron Diether V von Gemmingen, who founded the line Gemmingen - Hagenschieß the barons of Gemmingen. Since 1806 the place belonged to the Grand Duchy of Baden, which in 1839 also acquired the property of the Gemminger. Since 1952 Tiefenbronn part of the new state of Baden- Württemberg.

In the 1990s Tiefenbronn several times went into nationwide headlines: on the one with repeated strikes of chunks of ice from aircraft toilets several skylights and buildings were damaged. Also a kidnapping case, the press published in 1997 after Tiefenbronn.

Today's church was re- formed on 1 January 1972 by the Association of Municipalities Tiefenbronn, Lehningen and Mulhouse.

Lehningen

Districts

Mulhouse was - as Tiefenbronn - first mentioned in 1105 in the Codex of the Monastery Hirsau. With Tiefenbronn together it came over the Baron von Gemmingen to the Grand Duchy of Baden, and finally to Baden-Württemberg. On January 1, 1972, was incorporated together with the hamlet Lehningen after Tiefenbronn.

Lehningen is the smallest district of the municipality Tiefenbronn.

Structures

In the district of Tiefenbronn the cultural and historical fame is its 600 year old Church of St. Mary Magdalene, who offers several attractions. In addition to a gothic Silbermonstranz by Jörg Seldere it houses the major works of two masters: the high altar by Hans Schüchlin from the year 1469 and the Magdalen altarpiece by Lucas Moser in the year 1432.

In the district of Mulhouse, the Catholic Church of St. Alexander dating from 1495, with its grave plates between 1607 and 1732 as well as the old moated castle Steinegg with defensive wall of 1551/1553 are worth seeing. The castle came in 1823 through the work of Aloys Henhöfer in the possession of the Protestant community.

In the district Lehningen the small Catholic Church of St. Ottilia in the center is worth seeing. It was built about 1500

Customs

Tiefenbronn is a great " fool stronghold " and maintains its carnival for many decades. The 5th season is one of the most important domestic shrines in the local happenings. Already in 1954 the Tiefenbronner Carnival Society (TCV ) was established, which every year many events, such as Ceremonial meetings, masked balls, the Tiefenbronner carnival procession and a snowman burning organized. Thus, the Tiefenbronner carnival is the oldest of its kind in the Enz, Pforzheim area and beyond. In addition, there are seven masks and guild groups that actively participate in the carnival. The symbolic figure of Tiefenbronner carnival is the Schmellenhopfer ( epithet of Tiefenbronner ). The fool is each year a new Schmellenprinz.
