Tinogasta Department
The department Tinogasta is in the northwest of the province of Catamarca in northwestern Argentina and is one of the 16 administrative units in the province.
It is bordered to the north by the Department of Antofagasta de la Sierra, on the east by the department of Belén and the Departamento Poman, to the south by the province of La Rioja and west by Chile.
The capital of the department is the same Tinogasta. It is located 279 km from the provincial capital San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca and 1415 km from Buenos Aires.
