Valle Viejo Department

The department of Valle Viejo is located in the center of the province of Catamarca in northwestern Argentina and is one of the 16 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered on the north by the departments Fray Mamerto Esquiú and PACLIN, on the east by the departments of El Alto and Ancasti and to the south and west by the Departamento Capayán.

The capital of the department is San Isidro.
