Toivo Suursoo

Toivo Suursoo ( born November 13, 1975 in Tallinn, Estonian SSR) is an Estonian ice hockey player who is Kongsvinger Since October 2011 when the Knights in the Norwegian first divisjon under contract.

Career

Toivo Suursoo began his career as a hockey player in his Estonian homeland, where he was active for LNSK Narva, Narva Tallinna JSK and 2000 by 1990 to 1993. He was then taken from Krylia Sovetov Moscow under contract, for which he ran aground three years in the Russian Super League. During this period he was also selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1994 in the eleventh round when a total of 283 players from the Detroit Red Wings, for which, however, he never played. Instead, graduated from the attacker in the 1994/95 season Krylia Sovetov for ten games, which ran as Soviet Wings in the International Hockey League, where he scored four points scorer, including three goals.

In summer 1996 Suursoo was obliged TPS Turku of the Finnish SM- liiga, with whom he was runner-up in 97 of the season 1996 / and the European Hockey League won. From 1998 to 2000 the Este family was at the Malmö Redhawks in the Swedish Elitserien under contract. he also graduated in this period to two inserts for the Adirondack Red Wings of the American Hockey League. After one season with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the AHL, played the Estonian national team in the 2001/02 season for Luleå HF in the Elitserien. He then moved on to their league rivals, while his former club Malmo Redhawks, which he left after one and a half years during the 2003/04 season to go for Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk hunting for goals.

In the summer of 2004 Suursoo signed with the Herning Blue Fox from the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen, with whom he was Danish Champion for the first time in the following season. He then spent two years playing in the Belarusian Extraliga for Riga 2000 and the HK HK Keramin Minsk, where he was runner-up with 07 Minsk in the season 2006 /. In the same season the winger scored in 19 games overall scorer seven points, including three goals for Amur Khabarovsk in the Russian Super League. For the 2007 /08 season Suursoo returned to his former club Danish Herning Blue Fox, with whom he won the national championship again. After the veteran the 2008/09 season began with reigning Belarusian champions HK Keramin Minsk, he moved just before season's end for IF Troja Ljungby in - the HockeyAllsvenskan, the second highest Swedish league.

The 2009/10 season began Suursso in his home at Välk -494 Tartu, which he, however, after a goal in only one game already left again and spend the entire rest of the game time when IK Oskarshamn in the HockeyAllsvenskan. The 2010/11 season began, the Estonian national team at the Swindon Wildcats in the English Premier Ice Hockey League, in which he in 24 games 22 points scorer, 13 goals scored. In December 2010, he was appointed by Mörrums GoIS IK from the third Swedish league, Division 1, bound. For the 2011/12 season he signed a contract with the Lyon Hockey Club from Division 1, the French second division. However, for the French, he completed only five games before it to the Kongsvinger Knights from the first divisjon, the second Norwegian league, joined in October 2011.

Internationally

For Estonia Suursoo participated in the B World Championships 2003, 2007 and 2011.
