Tomas Milian

Tomás Milián (born Tomás Rodriguez Quintin, born March 3, 1932 in Havana, Cuba) is a Cuban actor.

Life and work

Milián went to some serious experiences in childhood and adolescence to New York, where he studied at the Actor's Studio. Home since the mid- 50s in Italy, where he wanted to play larger roles than those offered to him in the United States, the great success came after several years in challenging films with the heyday of the spaghetti westerns. Particularly well known he was starring in the Westerns of Sergio Sollima ( The Gundown, Face to Face ) and later entered various other genre productions, including films by Giulio Petroni and Sergio Corbucci.

At the beginning of the 70s to Milian turned to the police drama, in which he both serious roles achieved success, as well as in the comedic scale and towards the end of the decade series developed series of the Commissioner Nico Giraldi ( in the German versions of ' Super cop' aka ' Toni Maroni ' ) Accents set. Again and again he was, however, artistically ambitious films, as can be seen by Lina Wertmuller and Michelangelo Antonioni.

After the collapse of the Italian film industry at the end of the 80s Milian moved its main focus in the U.S., where he is regularly used to this day in Hollywood productions as a supporting actor.

Milian is married to Margherita Rita Valetti since 1964 and has a child with her. He now lives with his family in Miami.
