Tomi Pettinen

Tomi Pettinen ( born June 17, 1977 in Ylöjärvi ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey player who was most recently at Lukko Rauma in the SM- liiga under contract.

Career

Tomi Pettinen began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of Ilves Tampere, for the first team, he made his debut in the SM- liiga in the 1996/97 season. He first began the following season with Ilves Tampere, but left the team after just three matches and finished it in its league rivals Lukko Rauma. The 1998/99 season began with the defender HIFK Helsinki. He left the capital club after four games without a point and spent the entire rest of the game time at Hermes Kokkola in the second-class I divisioona. For Hermes, he scored eight goals in 45 games and six assists. He then returned to Ilves Tampere, for which he was from 1999 to 2002 regulars in the SM- liiga. During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2000 in the ninth round as a total 267 players from the New York Islanders to for their farm team Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League, he in the 2001/ 02 season after season end in Finland nine appearances came. During the lockout in the NHL Pettinen played in the 2004/05 season in his native Finland for the SM - liiga participants Lukko Rauma. Internationally

For Finland Pettinen took part in 2010 at the Euro Hockey Tour. He had two assists in three games.
