History

Founding and beginnings (1987-1996)

The band was originally founded in 1987/88 under the name Warpigs in the northern German town of Hemmoor. Later it changed its name to Tomte Tummetott based on the eponymous children's books by Astrid Lindgren, including the name of the band was reduced to Tomte.

In 1991, Tomte Tummetott on a demo tape in the living room of the singer and bassist Christian Stemmann, which, however, remains unpublished to this day. From the first album until the first success (1998-2005)
