It covers an area of 3.8 km ² and has 2547 inhabitants (as at 30 June 2011). The population density is 678 inhabitants / km ².

Located in the eastern zone of the municipality is bounded on the south by Vilar do Torno e Alentém, on the west by Cernadelo, in the southeast by the municipality of Amarante and in the north by the municipality of Felgueiras Torno.
