Trésilley

Trésilley is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Trésilley situated at an altitude of 304 m above sea level, 4 km north- west of Rioz and about 24 km north of the city of Besançon (air line). The village is located in the south of the department, on a plateau between the forest heights of the Forêt de Sorans in the south and the Bois des Rêpes in the north.

The area of ​​11.08 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the undulating landscape between the river valleys of the south and Ognon Saône in the northwest. The central part of the area is occupied by the plateau of Trésilley, which is on average 310 m. It is mainly passed with arable and meadow land. To the southeast the plateau lowers to the surface of Rioz, towards the northwest to the headwaters of the Romaine and to the southwest to the headwaters of the Tounolle. On the plateau there is no above-ground rivers, because the rainwater seeps into the karst underground.

Flanked the plateau of Trésilley in the west of the height of the Bois de Chatey ( 399 m), in the south of the wooded knolls of the Bois de la Charrière ( 387 m), part of the territory of the Forêt de Sorans. To the north, the municipality's area covers with a narrow tip at the height of the Bois des Rêpes, on the 400 meters, the highest elevation of Trésilley is achieved. In geological terms, there is a plateau of sandy- marly layers of the upper Jurassic period, while the hills are composed mainly of limestone strata of the middle and upper Jurassic.

Neighboring communities of Trésilley are Fondremand Hyet in the north, Rioz in the east, Montarlot -lès- Rioz in the south.

History

In Roman times the municipal area was of a traffic, which led to the Saône from the Rhine, crossed. A burial ground from the Merovingian time points to an early settlement. In the Middle Ages Trésilley belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. The local government of the village held the barony Fondremand. Together with the Franche -Comté Trésilley came with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. Today the village is a member of the comprehensive 28 villages municipal association Communauté de communes du Pays Riolais.

Attractions

The village church of Trésilley was built in the 19th century and has furniture in the Gothic Revival style. The Mairie ( Municipal House ) dates from 1839 and the circular fountain in the village square in 1838.

Population

With 213 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Trésilley one of the small towns in the Haute- Saône. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1886 233 persons were still counted ), a continuous population growth was recorded since the early 1970s again. Since then, the population has doubled.

Economy and infrastructure

Trésilley was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village. Today, there are some establishments of local small businesses. In recent decades the village has been transformed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work.

The village is situated away from the larger passage axes on a secondary road that leads from Rioz after Fondremand. Further road links exist with La Malachère and Montarlot -lès- Rioz.
