Perrouse

Perrouse is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Perrouse situated at an altitude of 240 m above sea level, 7 km south of Rioz and about 14 km north of the city of Besançon (air line). The village extends to the south of the department on the plateau, which connects north to the valley of Ognon, north of the ridge of the Fort de la Dame Blanche ( Grande Cote ).

The area of ​​4.39 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the middle Ognon Valley. The southern boundary runs along the Ognon. This flows here with several meanders through an alluvial plain, which has a width of about two kilometers and is on average 220 ​​m. From the river, the municipality's area extends northward over the valley and a 30 m high slope up to the plateau of Perrouse, the partly forested, partly is passed with arable and meadow land. It consists of an alternation of calcareous and sandy- marly layers of the upper Jurassic period. Over the hill to the Bois de la Chenove (295 m) of the communal land extends into the Talniederung the Buthiers, a right tributary of the Ognon, and up to the heights of the Forêt de Sorans. Here the highest elevation of Perrouse is achieved with 327 m.

To Perrouse the hamlet of Villers -le-Temple (235 m) is in the Talniederung the Buthiers. Neighboring communities of Perrouse are Sorans -lès -Breurey in the north, Cromary in the east, Mérey - Vieilley in the south and Buthiers and Voray -sur- l'Ognon in the West.

History

Is first mentioned Perrouse in the year 1218. During the Middle Ages the village belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. Both the Cistercian monastery Bellevaux and the monastery of Saint -Vincent, Besançon owned land on communal land. Together with the Franche -Comté Perrouse came with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. In 1821, the previously independent Villers -le-Temple was (1821: 37 inhabitants ), which is first mentioned in 1297 as Viler of the Templars, incorporated to Perrouse. Today Perrouse is a member of the 28 localities comprehensive community association Communauté de communes du Pays Riolais.

Attractions

The chapel at Villers -le-Temple was rebuilt in the 17th century. In-room amenities include major statues of the Virgin Mary from the 12th and 15th centuries as well as a pulpit and an altar from the 18th century. The Municipal House ( Mairie ) of Perrouse was built in 1886.

Population

After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1926 113 persons were still counted ), a strong population growth has been recorded since the early 1970s again.

Economy and infrastructure

Perrouse was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village. Today there are various businesses of the local small business sector. In recent decades the village has been transformed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who do their work in the larger towns in the area and agglomeration in Besançon.

The village has good transport links. It is located near the main road N57, which runs from Besancon to Vesoul. The nearest links to the A36 motorway is located at a distance of about 13 km. Further road links exist with Voray -sur- l'Ognon and Cromary.
