The Trud Stadium is a football stadium in the Russian city of Tomsk. It can accommodate 15,000 spectators and serves the club Tom Tomsk as homestead.

History

The Trud Stadium in Tomsk, a city of just over 500,000 inhabitants in the West Siberian Tomsk Oblast, was built in 1929. Since 1957, it then served the local football club Tom Tomsk as the venue for home games. Since the club was for many years only to find unterklassigem level of Soviet and Russian football early, also let the facilities of Trud Stadium much to be desired. For example, there was until 2005 no proper toilet, against the Siberian snowfall, the stadium was almost defenseless.

In 2005 changed some of these states, because this year Tom Tomsk rose for the first time in its history in the highest Russian Football League, the league Premjer on. This massive renovations at the Trud Stadium were needed to meet the basic standards of Erstligafußballs. For example, modern toilets was installed, and also measures against the Siberian snow have been taken in the form of a special heating system. Furthermore, it increased the capacity of the Trud Stadium to 15,000 spectators, after the stadium had previously been considerably smaller.

These measures proved in retrospect from entirely justified, because Tom Tomsk managed to establish itself in Russia's elite league. As a climber you occupied in the Premjer - League 2005 a secure tenth place in the table and had the descent in subsequent years no direct contact. It was not until 2012 you had to accept the re- descent into second- highest division, however, managed an immediate return to the Premjer league, so currently the first Russian football league games are played in the Trud Stadium.
