Turmero is a city in the state of Aragua in the north of the South American country of Venezuela.

The city has about 52,000 inhabitants, was founded in 1620 and is the capital of the district ( municipality ) Santiago Mariño.

Geography

The city is located 40 km south of the coast of the Caribbean Sea, 20 km east of the Valencia Lake. 10 km to the west lies Maracay.
