Tusk is the title of an album by the rock band Fleetwood Mac.

History

With Rumours the band had in 1977 presented an album that was one of the most successful in the band and rock history. They won Grammy Awards for this album in 1978 and went back into the studio to record new songs. The financial success of Rumours made ​​sure that the band received a budget for the recording of $ 1 million. The funders of Warner expected a similar compact mainstream album like Rumours it was. The monumental double album was however marked by musical experiments by Lindsey Buckingham and came to far less than the previous album. Tusk ultimately did not reach the expected top ranking in the U.S. charts and was only up to 4th place. Nevertheless, over two million albums by Tusk were sold in the next few years. Unlike Rumours on the singles such could not advance to become hits. The most successful was the title song Tusk, who came on the market together with the album. Something different was the success of in Europe. Tusk climbed as well as Rumours in the UK number one in the album charts, and in Germany, the album was at number 3 as the highest placing even more successful than Rumours, which could only reach the 6th Place.

In 2001, the entire album was covered by the group Camper Van Beethoven and released in 2002 on the label Pitch -A -Tent. (Originally it was claimed that these recordings date from the year 1987. )

2004 a new edition appeared as a double CD, in addition to the 20 original songs contained another CD with demo, live and remix versions.
