Ulanqab
Ulanqab is a prefecture-level city in the center of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China. It extends from 39 ° 37 ' to 43 ° 28' north latitude, 109 ° 16 ' to 114 ° 49' east longitude. The city Ulanqab emerged from the federal government Ulanqab (乌兰察布 盟Wulanchabu Meng ) on 1 December 2003. The former county-level city of Jining was transformed into the city of Jining district.
The administrative area of the city Ulanqab has an area of 54,491 km ². It is bordered to the west by the city of Hohhot, north on over 100 km in length to the state in Mongolia, on the northeast by the Xilinguole Confederation, on the east by the province of Hebei and on the south by the province of Shanxi. The largest east - west distance is about 458 km, the largest north-south extent of about 442 km. Towards the end of 2004 Ulanqab had a population of around 2.7 million people.

The city Ulanqab is composed at the county level from a municipality, five circles, four banners and independent city. These are:
- Jining City district (集 宁 区), 114 km ², 260,000 inhabitants ( 2004), seat of city government administrative center;
- Circle Zhuozi (卓 资 县), 3119 km ², 230,000 inhabitants ( 2004), capital: greater community Zhuozishan (卓 资 山镇);
- Circle Huade (化 德 县), 2527 km ², 160,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Changshun (长顺 镇);
- Circle Shangdu (商 都 县), 4304 km ², 330,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Shangdu (商 都 镇);
- Circle Xinghe (兴 和 县), 3520 km ², 300,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Chengguan (城关 镇);
- Circle Liangcheng (凉城 县), 3451 km ², 230,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Daihai (岱海 镇);
- Front Qahar banner of the right wing (察哈尔 右翼 前 旗), 2734 km ², 260,000 inhabitants ( 2004), capital: greater community Tugin Ul (土 贵 乌拉 镇);
- Middle Qahar banner of the right wing (察哈尔 右翼 中 旗), 4200 km ², 210,000 inhabitants ( 2004), capital: greater community Hobor (科布尔 镇);
- Rear Qahar banner of the right wing (察哈尔 右翼 后 旗), 3803 km ², 210,000 inhabitants ( 2004), capital: greater community Bayan Qagan (白 音 察 干 镇);
- Siziwang banner (四子王旗), 24,016 km ², 200,000 inhabitants ( 2004), capital: greater community Ulan Hua (乌兰 花 镇);
- City Fengzhen (丰镇 市), 2703 km ², 310,000 inhabitants ( 2004).
