Unitatis redintegratio

Unitatis redintegratio is, after its opening words, "Decree on Ecumenism " of Vatican II. It was decided in the third session on 21 November 1964 to 11 votes and 2137 by Pope Paul VI. solemnly promulgated.

The Regulation includes a preface and three chapters:

In the third chapter is thereby specifically evaluate the relations with the Orthodox and Protestant churches.

The decree of the Constitution on the Church Lumen Gentium, the Council is dependent content. It brings a realignment of the Roman Catholic Church to other Christian denominations, which are now recognized as positive in pre-conciliar period. Accordingly, it was well received by theologians and church representatives of other denominations.
